In a world where the fight against corruption is the key point of government programs, auditing is of particular importance, as it directly affects the use of public money. This study focuses on the activity of the Supreme Audit Institutions in Romania and Albania through a comparative analysis to highlight the strengths and weaknesses in the institutional and financial organizations as well as the communication of these institutions with the taxpayers. The reason of choosing the two countries selected for the analysis, is the fact that Albania is a country that aspires to be part of the European Union, while Romania has been part of the EU for years. Also, since the scientific studies in Albania in the field of external public audit are rare, this paper will help researchers for further studies. The conclusions of the analysis indicate the need to revise the legal framework, especially for the Romanian Court of Accounts, and to improve the way of communicating the annual results of their activity....

Innovations in digital technologies, such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data, among others, appear with great emphasis in this work....
The accessibility of bank websites has been a great challenge for people with visual disabilities, especially in developing countries. Egypt is considered a good example for such countries with a population over than 98 million. The low level of staff expertise in dealing with visually disabled clients makes it harder for them. Thus, the research at hand addresses the main challenges that face people with visual disabilities, and the fact that they are mostly prevented from having independent bank accounts; which highly threatens their security. Literature was extensively reviewed to determine the key dimensions that affect the digital banking accessibility, and identify the mediating and moderating factors. A theoretical framework was accordingly developed and proposed. A structured questionnaire is adopted and adapted to survey people with visual disabilities. Focus groups are also conducted to understand their perceptions, and semi-structured interviews are conducted to get a deep insight into decision makers’ perception both in the banking sector and the governmental entity. Data collected was statistical and interpretive. The study also conducts an experiment in order to assess the recommended digital banking system. Research findings together with the literature review enabled a set of recommendations that can act as a clear guide to governmental representatives and decision makers at banks....
Financial crises, in general, are putting a greater emphasis on the best practices regarding corporate governance in emerging economies. Boards of Directors are under great pressure to be transparent and accountable. In the same background, given the current socioeconomic context, due to the crisis generated by the new Coronavirus (CoVid-19) pandemic, the banking sector is under analogous levels of scrutiny, subject to a similar regulatory backlash. In this context, banks must not fail to fulfil the expectations of policy makers in particular, and society in general. The Code of Corporate Governance (CCG) issued by the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) aims at creating an internationally attractive capital market in Romania, based on best practices, transparency and trust – pillars that encourage companies to build a strong relationship with their shareholders and other stakeholders, by an effective and transparent communication, as well as openness towards all potential investors. This paper aims to highpoint the degree of compliance of the banks listed on the BSE with the principles and provisions stipulated by the CCG in force. As such, the assessment consisted in measuring the corporate governance quality and effectiveness in the main Romanian banks: Banca Transilvania, BRD, Erste Group and Patria Bank. Evaluating corporate governance eminence is constructed by using the score function method in regards to disclosure and transparency practices, as proposed by BSE. In this respect, an investigation was performed, focusing on the mode in which the principles enforced by the BSE are respected. This goal is important due to the current sensitive socioeconomic environment, which, undoubtedly, makes the corporate governance in the banking sector a controversial subject. In this framework, valuable conclusions were reached, regarding a satisfactory compliance level with the CCG issued by BSE. The research emphasized a high level of adoption of the best practice doctrines....
